A brief description of the guidelines for franchisees:
Missouri S&T includes specific environmental sustainability requirements in its food service franchise contract. The contract includes requirements for the franchise to participate in University recycling programs and includes guidance for ensuring the proper recycling procedures are followed. The contract requirement is stated below:
4.11 Sanitation
4.11.9-The Contractor is required to participate in the University’s recycling program. University will be responsible for provision and removal of appropriate containers, and for provision of procedural instructions.
4.11.9.1- The University currently has a recycling program available at all cafeteria locations. Contractor is required to sort paper, cardboard, plastic, cans, glass, and aluminum into the bins provided. Once sorted, University staff will pick up and take to the recycling center.
