A copy of the institution's definition of sustainability research:
Missouri S&T’s Green Campus Committee, which includes at least three faculty members who conduct research, developed the following definition of sustainability research: “Research efforts that relate to recent changes in the energy generation and transport field that are related to environmental issues, or environmental research that relates directly to the energy field or to broader sustainability aspects of our society.”

A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the inventory:
Missouri S&T’s Green Campus Committee, which includes at least three faculty members who conduct research, established the initial inventory of sustainability research activities at Missouri S&T. The sustainability inventory was recently expanded by examining the research conducted by several academic departments and research centers across the campus and analyzing Sponsored Programs grants and contracts reports. The OSE3 office maintains the sustainability inventory document which includes a summary of the departments and faculty members engaged in sustainability research. These departments and centers make their sustainability research inventory available to the public through their websites and annual reports.
