A brief description of how the institution ensures that its lowest-paid workers (including contractors, if applicable) receive sustainable compensation:

While the University doesn't have a policy requiring that we pay employees a sustainable compensation, the University adopted the following Salary Objective in 2006: Missouri State University's average salaries for all positions will equal or exceed their respective comparison salary survey averages. All employees are paid at least the minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, and the cost of living in Springfield is low with a Living Wage of $7.20 per hour (calculated by Amy Glasmeier at Pennsylvania State University). All full-time employees have benefits including vacation, sick leave, health and dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, and retirement valued at 31.4% of salary. 837 of the 1079 part time employees on campus earn at least $10.00 per hour. The 250 contractors are paid prevailing wages.
