Professional Development: Sustainability and social responsibility concepts have been presented to Procurement Services staff by the department head within more than one regularly scheduled staff meeting. Principles have been reviewed and discussed, and trade journals containing some social responsibility and sustainability articles have been made available to Procurement Services.
Diversity: A link to the State of Missouri Minority/Women Business Enterprise Program, http://www.directory.oeo.oa.mo.gov/, is posted on the Procurement Services website. The Director of Procurement Services has collaborated in the past with other area governmental procurement officers regarding this area. Diversity is represented within University Procurement Services personnel.
Financial Responsibility: Bids are evaluated through a point process that evaluates factors including cost, experience, and reliability, and operating approach/method of performance.
Ethics and Business Conduct: This department follows the conduct codes from the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing, National Association of Educators Procurement, and the Institute for Supply Management. Procurement Services staff are also memebers of these trade associations, and receive ongoing communication from the organizations. Conduct codes and links to the organizations are posted on the departmental website.
