A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
While Orientation has been been modified over the years, Mills Sustainability has consistently provided sustainability resources, education and opportunities every year. The Sustainability Coordinator hosts a presentation to all incoming students, followed by Q&A, for sustainability resources on campus, highlighting waste reduction, water conservation, climate action, environmental justice, alternative transportation options, ecology and nature, and more. The presentation includes a Mills-centered zero waste video, ending with a quiz and prize incentives. Orientation flyers inform and connect students with the on-campus and online sustainability resources. Spring orientation is a smaller effort, but similar orientation materials as shared in the fall are provided.
