Each department that has or is pursuing Mills' internal Green Department Certification, has a green team. The members of department green teams are self selected. There is also an advertised email group in which faculty and staff who are interested in making their departments greener can ask for advice from other departments' green teams. There is a shared google folder that green team members can add resources to for other employees.

A brief description of the formal training that the employee educators receive to prepare them to conduct peer outreach:
Green teams meet regularly to discuss green initiatives within their department. The Sustainability Coordinator and/or a designated representative is available for these meetings to participate or host trainings. There are also provided with a Green Department Certification Resource Guide.
