In addition to an undergraduate population of 2,549 students (1% of whom were part-time and non-residential, ie, 25, counted at half-time) during the traditional academic year, the Middlebury Campus is fully utilized during the summer months by its Summer Language Program. In 2016 there were 1,227 students enrolled for an FTE of 286 during the summer. There were also 26 graduate degree students during the summer at Middlebury for an FTE of 6. Thus, the total FTE enrollment is 2,853. This is also the case for faculty numbers as well as the summer language school has summer faculty who are present and often reside on campus during the summer.
