A brief description of the institution’s sustainability projects fund:
This new revolving fund will be used to pursue energy projects to decrease energy consumption and reduce our carbon footprint. An initial investment of $200k was allocated in spring of 2023, and projects will commence in summer of 2023.
A brief description of the multi-stakeholder decision-making process used to determine which projects receive funding through the sustainability projects fund:
The Fund will be managed by the Evergreen Fund Committee (EFC), a subcommittee of the Sustainability and Resilience Advisory Committee (SRAC). The purpose of the EFC will be to oversee the selection of projects, verification of cost savings, and reporting of Fund performance. The EFC will also assist in seeking supplementary funds in the form of grants, rebates, and philanthropic support. It will be composed of five voting members and include the Director of Energy Management, the Director of Sustainability and Resilience, one faculty member, one student, and one university administrator. The Facilities Business Manager will serve as the EFC treasurer in a non-voting capacity.
