Students are able to identify and address conflicting ethical values and develop a sense of responsibility for the broad impacts of individual actions, social institutions and public policy. They understand their role as citizens and their responsibility to work with others in promoting quality of life and a sustainable society. Social responsibility, like civic engagement, means promoting the quality of community life through both political and non-political processes. Ethical reasoning is reasoning about right and wrong human conduct.

Using the attached pdf 'degrees-majors', the total number of graduates FY21 was calculated by adding all first major undergrad degrees awarded with all MS and PhD degrees awarded. Second majors were not included in order to avoid double counting the same people.
The pdf then lists all graduates by degree program. Sustainability-focused programs, programs requiring a sustainability-focused course, or those with sustainability-focused learning outcomes were summed in order to get the total number of graduates from degrees requiring an understanding of sustainability. Calculations can be viewed in the Excel sheet.

A list of degree programs that require an understanding of the concept of sustainability:
The Excel sheet below lists all degree programs that have at least one sustainability-focused learning outcome. The degree program, level (BS, MS, etc.), Learning outcome, and a link are provided for each listing. We decided not to include minors since they do not typically list learning outcomes and are more likely to cause double counting in the number of students graduating from programs requiring an understanding of sustainability.
Most MS and PhD programs do not list learning outcomes. MS and PhD programs with a matching BS were included in the list of degree programs with sustainability-focused learning goals with the idea that their learning goals would be of a similar theme to their matching BS.
