A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:

We have hosted students from several South American universities, we have an MOU with UADY in Merida, Mexico to facilitate this sort of relationship in joint sustainability programming and have hosted 2 of their students, plus 2 others from Mexico and one from Brazil.
We are assisting two Department of Energy Advanced Manufacturing Institutes with their sustainability metrics development and roadmapping efforts (REMADE and CESMII).

In 2019, MTU and MSU won an NSF grant to collaborate on a research project titled, "Socio-Technological System Transitions: Michigan Community and Anishinaabe Renewable Energy Sovereignty". This project will explore social, cultural and technological dimensions of energy system transitions.
