MSU Culinary and Services was awarded in 2020 for the Loyal E. Horton Dining Award for the Residential Dining Facility Category. The university's entry in this category recognized the allergen free dining hall Thrive at Owen Hall. Thrive is Certified Free From the Big 8 allergens (eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat) plus gluten. As the number of students reporting food allergies continued to rise nearly 175% each year, MSU placed emphasis on expanding our food allergy program, with Thrive serving as an essential component to success. Kitchen with Confidence is the certifying body for Thrive.
