A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
MSU offers a broad range of cultural competence training and activities for students. Programs include the following:
1. Student Affairs and Services offers cultural competence learning opportunities through the Office of Cultural and Academic Transitions, LBGT Resource Center, Multi-Racial Unity Living Experience, Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities, Residence Life, and other programs (URL: http://www.vps.msu.edu/about-student-affairs/departments)
2. The Michigan State University Office of International Studies and Programs (ISP) is a university-level office, headed by a dean, that supports and encourages international activities throughout the institution. ISP units are:
* resource centers for foreign language, international and global studies
* avenues for MSU faculty, students, staff and their partners to collaborate in research and outreach to address critical global issues of state-wide and national importance
* sources of programming for K-16 students and teachers, lifelong learners and Michigan businesses
