In 2021, the Sustainability Office and University Communications and Marketing partnered with the Regional E-Learning Department to create a Sustainability Course Module. Topics covered include - (1) Climate Change, (2) The Presidents' Climate Leadership Commitments, (3) STARS, and (4) Zero Waste and Recycling. As part of the course, we included a pre and post-test cultural assessment with 20 questions. We administered the course in Feb 2022 and plan to annually update it and administer it to the entire campus population. At this time, the course is not mandatory but highly encouraged.

Cultural Assessment:
-All questions are 5 points Likert Scale based - (1) Strongly Agree, (2) Agree, (3) Neutral, (4) Disagree, and (5) Strongly Disagree
(1) I feel like I can make a difference with respect to climate change and sustainability in my daily life
(2) I feel societal barriers impacts my ability to individually address climate change and sustainability in my daily life
(3) Climate change impacts my life today
(4) Climate change will impact my life in the next 10 years
(5) Climate change will impact my life in the 20 (and plus) years
(6) I feel I can reduce a majority of my waste by practicing a zero-waste lifestyle?
(7) I don’t truly understand what steps are needed for a zero waste lifestyle.

We administered the cultural assessment by sending an email to all Oxford and Regionals students with a link to the course/assessment "Sustainability at Miami" that is housed on Miami's Canvas platform
A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:
As of Feb. 25 (two weeks after the soft rollout of the Sustainability at Miami education module), 52 students have enrolled. The number will increase dramatically after a major rollout during EarthWeek. See attached for results thus far.
