Miami's Center for Teaching Excellence supports Faculty Learning Communities (FLCs) for faculty who propose a professional development or course development FLC. Grant-receiving FLCs cover a wide variety of topics of interest to the faculty and Miami students. Some current and recent FLCs with sustainability-related themes include:

Faculty Learning Community on Arts + Design + Health (2021): Explores the ways art and design are integral to health and well-being.

The main focus of the field of Disability Studies has been to develop a social, political, legal, philosophical, representational and cultural critique of the interlocking systems that disempower and oppress disabled people through prejudice, stereotype, structural and material violence, exclusion and neglect.
Faculty Learning Community on Intergroup Dialogue o Race and Ethnicity (2020-2021)
