The entire campus community (students and employees) directly or by representative sample

A brief description of how and when the cultural assessment(s) were developed and/or adopted:
In early 2020, MCC issued their first sustainability engagement survey to take the temperature of sustainability engagement on campus and get data as part of pre-work for the Sustainability Master Plan. We worked with a local sustainability consultancy to use their statistically valid engagement survey. 40% of employees responded and 3% of students.

MCC is planning to administer the second survey (first follow-up) in the fall of 2021 or 2022.

The survey results are included in the appendix of the Sustainability Master Plan, which can be found at https://www.mccneb.edu/Community-Business/Buildings-Expansions/Campus-Planning-and-Sustainability/Sustainability/About

A brief description of how representative samples were reached (if applicable) and how the cultural assessment is administered:
Three emails were sent to the entire credit student body. Three direct emails were also sent to employees. There were also invitations to complete the survey posted on MyWay, the College's internal news feed. Two gift cards were offered to random winners to encourage survey completion.

A brief summary of results from the cultural assessment:
The survey results offer scores on a scale of 0-100. MCC's initial employee score is 46. The survey results are based on five categories: Awareness of efforts at the organization to be more sustainable, knowledge about ways to be sustainable at work, behavioral frequency of self-reported key sustainable behaviors, perceived norm of perceptions of how often others engage in key sustainable behaviors, and awareness of sustainability (familiarity with the concept of sustainability). The score is an average of the scores in each individual category.
