A brief description of the sustainability-focused immersive program(s) offered by the institution, including how each program addresses the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of sustainability:

The 15-credit Barbados Field Study Semester (BFSS), offered at the Bellairs Research Institute in Barbados, provides one term of integrated field study for students with an interest in global issues related to natural resource-use as affected by socio-economic, management, urban and physical constraints. Enrolment of McGill students is limited to 25 students and is offered each fall semester.

The Panama Field Study program is a joint venture between McGill University and the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) in Panama. It is a 15-credit program offered in the Winter term (January to April) that specifically addresses issues relevant to the understanding of the Latin America tropical environment. Enrolment of McGill students is limited to 26 students.
