A brief description of the socially responsible investment policy:
The role of the Committee to Advise on Matters of SR (CAMSR) in the management of the Endowment's investments is described in the University's Statement of Investment Policy, which says:
Section 9: Socially Responsible Investing
While the primary purpose of the management of the Endowment is to optimize the real rate of return on the fund's assets with an acceptable level of risk, companies in the portfolio that, by decisions of the Board, might cause concern to McGill are to be reviewed regularly by the Board's Committee to Advise on Matters of Social Responsibility.
The Committee is responsible for ensuring that the divestment decisions of the Committee to Advise on Matters of Social Responsibility are implemented in an orderly and timely manner.
