A brief description of steps the institution has taken to ensure that the purchasing policy, directives, or guidelines are followed :
Envirographic 100 Recycled EcoLogo is 100% PC paper.
The majority of the paper for Macdonald Campus is bought from Lyreco. This paper contains approximately 30% post-consumer recycled content. There is, however, no chlorine free or bleach free paper products purchased for the campus and each department can choose which type of paper they want to buy.
A paper use policy mandating the purchase of the EcoLogo or 100% PC paper (when economically feasible) has been in effect since September 1, 2005. Purchasing Services has negotiated preferential rates for 100% post-consumer paper from Ariva. It is used successfully by Printing Services for most of their requirements.
