A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Every four years, MIT administers a Quality of Life Survey to better understand the lives of faculty, staff, students, and post docs. On January 28, 2020, more than 26,000 faculty, staff and students on campus and at Lincoln Laboratory were asked to share their views about MIT. The survey closed on March 11th with an overall response rate of 50%.

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
The results are used to understand how people do their work and manage their studies, what obstacles might prevent them from thriving, and what opportunities empower them to do their best. This then informs benefits and experiences MIT offers staff.
