A brief description of the food bank, pantry, or equivalent resource:
Student Support Services (S3) within MIT’s Division of Student Life provides resources to undergraduate and graduate students to help with access to food.
One of these resources is SwipeShare, a program that allows students on a meal plan to donate their food “swipes” to other students. These swipes allow access to the buffet lines at any of five on-campus dining halls. The SwipeShare program is available to both undergraduate and graduate students.
S3 also provides additional food resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. All undergraduate students in emergency on-campus housing are enrolled in a no-cost dining plan so they can eat brunch and dinner seven days a week. Graduate students remaining on campus may request meal swipes by emailing the Division of Student Life.
