A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):
A wellness program at MC, facilitated by a part-time Director of Wellness, was implemented in 2007 to meet the goal created and approved by a wellness task force: "Each member of the Maryville College community is intentionally engaged and supported in a lifelong process that promotes optimum health."
Counseling services are made available, free-of-charge, for all students, faculty, and staff. The counseling staff consists of the Director of Counseling and a part-time intern.
Beginning in 2013, all benefit-eligible employees have had access to outside confidential counseling services for things such as substance abuse, family and marital counseling, work-related issues, etc. which are paid for by the college.
