A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :
The institution currently has 2 solar powered-picnic tables that have a total of six 45 watt and two 100 watt polycrystalline silicone panels that produce about 942 kWh per year. These are 'off-grid' with a gel-cell battery for backup/storage which has a capacity of 5700 watts; The institution also has a 12-panel solar array outside of LEED Gold certified Crawford House, which generates roughly 4.2 MWh per year. The solar array is tied to the Crawford House directly and generates roughly 30% of their electricity for operations.
