The Sustainable Marquette Employee Resource Group supports the university's guiding values and pledges to pray for, learn about, assess, act upon, and advocate for climate justice. By providing a platform for shared resources, workshops, and discussions, we seek to engage MU faculty and staff in incorporating sustainable practices into their personal and professional lives. Our group organizes opportunities for faculty and staff to get involved in community and campus sustainability efforts at whatever level they feel most comfortable and assists in developing knowledge and skills with respect to sustainability.

Job description for the sustainability officer position:

responsible for operationalizing the sustainability mission of Marquette. This individual in this role will serve as a point person for all sustainability activities on campus, and  coordinate with appropriate University departments to meet annual reporting requirements and other University  policies related to sustainability. Sustainability action is fostered through this position for multiple campus divisions.  This includes researching and providing best strategies in areas including but is not limited to: energy management,  waste and recycling strategies, sustainable food operations, potable and storm water management, alternative  transportation planning, LEED or comparable green building standards, procurement methods, conservation  awareness, and other related sustainability measures.
