A brief description of the program or practice:

There are a few areas around campus that use xeriscaping techniques, including the selection of drought tolerant plants. Most of these areas are small pockets of landscaping scattered throughout campus. The largest area and example of xeriscaping techniques on campus is the landscaping surrounding the new Engineering Hall. Another area is the landscaping on the north side Carpenter Tower. There is also a small patch on Wells Street and 11th Street that uses drought tolerant plants. Although this last area is owned by the city, it is maintained by Marquette’s Grounds Crew.
