The Madisonville Community College Sustainability Committee works to promote sustainability awareness to the campus and community through various marketing efforts, publications, and events. Within the last three years the sustainability committee has held a 10th Day tour to collect papers that needed to be recycled, held it's first annual Earth Day Celebration, participated in the Green Campus Smackdown along with members of the committee participating in other events.

The vision of Madisonville Community College is to create a sustainable climate on campus and in our community by empowering our employees and students to embed sustainability practices through all daily activities including curriculum, recycling, and sustaining the student population in the various programs offered through our college. Madisonville Community College wants to meet the needs of current and future generations by providing an equitable balance through social, economic, and environmental performance.

A brief description of each sustainability officer position:

Sustainability Coordinator is in charge of developing, planning, coordinating and implementing activities including, but not limited to, workshops, clubs, public events and other programs related to sustainability. Work collaboratively with administration, faculty, staff, and students to promote and execute sustainability initiatives at MCC. Lead efforts to implement a long-term, institution-wide Sustainability plan for MCC that will be effectual in transforming curriculum, economic, social, and environmental issues.
