A brief description of the institution’s workplace health and safety initiatives, including how workers are engaged in monitoring and advising on health and safety programs:
MacEwan University is in the process of developing and implementing an integrated workplace health and safety program and associated tools to ensure our work environment is safe and contributes to a culture of health and safety. This strategy is currently in process and includes development of executive sponsorships, a health, safety and environment management program, as well as associated training and customer guides and templates. MacEwan University has dedicated positions for the development and delivery of the HSE program. Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
Data related incident report was sourced from MacEwan University’s incident reporting and tracking software 'Perspectives'. Reporting was provided for MacEwan employees only. For the time being, contractor numbers cannot be accurately reported on as MacEwan does not consistently track or require reporting on contractor H&S statistics. However, it is a long- to mid-term goal to adequately incorporate contractors in the reporting system.
