A brief description of the institution’s wellness and/or employee assistance program(s):

MacEwan University offers a confidential Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
Provided by Manulife and administered by Human Solutions, this service provides employees with confidential and professional assistance to help employees and their families to resolve a variety of lifestyle problems or challenges. Benefits include (generally at no cost to employees and eligible family members) but are not limited to counselling for stress, anger, addictions, depression, family and marital issues, eldercare, bereavement, retirement planning, weight, smoking, and general health.

MacEwan University employees also receive a membership discount at the Centre for Sport and Wellness and a discount at City of Edmonton facilities. Access to group classes, a fitness area, pool, steam room, gymnasium, and courts is included. MacEwan University has a policy that provides a maximum of $1100 or a three course maximum to access courses offered at the University. This includes programs in the Centre for Sport and Wellness as well as music and other courses for personal benefit.
