Does the institution have policies and/or guidelines in place to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources?:

A brief description of the policies and/or guidelines to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources:

An Idle Free campaign was implemented across City Centre Campus. Drop-off zones were identified and signage implemented to instruct drivers that idling for "one minute or less is best."

Has the institution completed an inventory of significant air emissions from stationary sources on campus?:

A brief description of the methodology(ies) the institution used to complete its air emissions inventory:

Methodology: We reviewed the list of potential stationary sources and identified those applicable to MacEwan University. An external contractor was hired to evaluate the weight of emissions for each sources identified:
- boilers, emergency generators, and other combustion sources
- CFAC paint booths
- petroleum storage tanks (diesel generators + grounds equipment)
- CFAC art studios
- chillers and HVAC equipment
- one swimming pool disinfected with chlorine gas
- one print shop

Weight of the following categories of air emissions from stationary sources::
Weight of Emissions
Nitrogen oxides (NOx) 12.10 Tonnes
Sulfur oxides (SOx) 0.29 Tonnes
Carbon monoxide (CO) 7.10 Tonnes
Particulate matter (PM) 0.01 Tonnes
Ozone (O3) 0.00 Tonnes
Lead (Pb) ---
Hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) ---
Ozone-depleting compounds (ODCs) ---
Other standard categories of air emissions identified in permits and/or regulations 0.41 Tonnes
