Ever-Green Energy Roadmap to Carbon Neutrality Program Recipient

A brief description of the second program/initiative/accomplishment:
Macalester is one of two schools selected by Ever-Green Energy to receive assistance in the planning process for achieving carbon neutrality. The program addresses overcoming institutional barriers to achieving carbon neutrality stemming from finances, technology, and prioritization by leveraging existing infrastructure, policies, and commitments and evaluating opportunities for expansion of technology and engagement of the campus community in moving towards decarbonization.

Community Food Justice and Food Access Advocate, a one-year VISTA program

A brief description of the third program/initiative/accomplishment:
The Civic Engagement Center at Macalester College has established a one-year Food Justice VISTA position to support food access and justice initiatives on campus and in the community. Specifically, the position supports our food recovery program to redistribute our prepared and unserved food to individuals who have limited access to food and collaborates with our campus food shelf organizers to broaden access and offerings to campus community members experiencing food insecurity.
