A list or brief description of each certified dining hall or food service outlet, including the certification earned:

Macalester participates in the national Food Recovery Network. All food comes out of their main kitchen (CafeMac) and from there any prepared food that is untouched is packaged and reheated for houseless encampments in the Twin Cities.

Macalester is awaiting the results of our request for the FRN Verification. Our application for renewal was submitted recently; we had an unusual case as our previous nonprofit partner was no longer able to take our recovered food after the pandemic began, and we pivoted to working with encampments in the Twin Cities through mutual aid networks (as opposed to official nonprofit organizations). After conversations with FRN staff, we were told our operation would still qualify for verification even without the official nonprofit partner. At this point, we are simply awaiting the updated listing.
