Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
SustainaCup

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The SustainaCup program provides free menstrual cups to students to promote sustainability and address and combat reproductive injustice. The reusable menstrual cups are from OrganiCups, a cruelty free and vegan brand. And they are available through Mailing Services and the Health and Wellness Center. The founder of this Macalester project, Miriam Eide (class of 2020) purposefully chose not to track the students who ordered the SustainaCups so not to limit them to ordering just one, as well as with privacy in mind. Tampons and pads do not biodegrade, and their costs are a burden for many, additionaly there are chemicals within them that many are intolerant to. Thus this ongoing project purposefully connects wellbeing and sustainability.
