A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
Sustainability goals and ideals are integrated throughout the new student orientation. Orientation features a Zero Waste Dinner for new students and families that introduces our waste-reducing goals and familiarizes new students with our waste sorting system. Orientation also includes a "dirty training" in which all new students are educated about the importance of waste reduction and given a basic lesson in sorting trash properly. In 2019, orientation leaders were provided with t-shirts announcing the amount of water used in producing a cotton shirt which they wore to spark conversation.
