The Sustainability Manager regularly offers staff trainings on the Sustainability Plan and related issues through the annual January and May staff trainings. The Sustainability Manager also regularly gives talks for Wellness and Health at Macalester (WHAM) and the Staff Advisory Council's programs.
A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution(e.g. through payment, reimbursement, or subsidy):
Sustainability staff members and occasionally other staff attend the Upper Midwest Association for Campus Sustainability conference and the Association for Sustainability in Higher Education conference. Travel is paid for by the Sustainability Office and sometimes by other departments (Institute for Global Citizenship, Faculty Travel Reimbursement).
