A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):

The Macalester Sustainability Office works with new student orientation to make sure that all students are exposed to the college goals. In 2016, the whole first year class went on a sustainability scavenger hunt. In addition, the office posts sustainability tips and links to our model dorm room website through a first-year facebook page maintained by our Residential Life department prior to Move-In. Students have also organized "dirty trainings" on each first year dorm floor to help student understand recycling and composting.
