"6. Integrate Sustainability:
• Consider environmental and long-term performance criteria in future development. Expand sustainability practices in the everyday operations of the campus and its maintenance."
Sustainability is also included as one of seven Master Plan Imperatives and Strategies
"6. Integrate Sustainability Practices into Campus Operations, Maintenance, & Future Development:
• Deliver the highest levels of sustainable design in each new building and grounds project, using national and state guidelines for direction.
• Explore the use of innovative and long-term cost-saving technologies, such as wind power, solar power, and roof gardens.
• Evaluate existing facilities and operational practices in order to increase the use of sustainable practices.
• Support the efforts of student groups that seek to promote environmental awareness on campus."
