A brief description of how the assessment was developed:
The assessment was developed as a collaboration between Student Voice, the ACPA Commission on Assessment, and the ACPA Task Force on Sustainability. The survey was designed to assess student progress to learning sustainability related outcomes as outlined in "Toward a Sustainable Future: The Role of Student Affairs in Creating Healthy Environments, Social Justice, and Strong Economies."

The assessment was administered via Student Voice and sent to 500 randomly selected Macalester students.

A brief summary of results from the assessment:
The results show that Macalester students are fairly well informed about the principles of sustainability. An analysis of open-ended responses showed 68% of respondents understood the connections between social justice, economic development, and environmental health as sustainability.
