A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:

We emailed a questionnaire to all first-year students (n=436) in the fall semester 2021 as part of our sustainability literacy survey. The survey was sent out on October 4, with reminders on October 14 and 31. The survey was opened by 138 students and completed by 44.

A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about employee commuting:

A survey was given in real time at two campus staff meetings in October, 2021. A total of 66 staff members completed the survey via clicker, so they could also see their real time results projected on a screen. A faculty survey was sent out to all faculty via two weekly faculty publications in November, 2021(CELT News and Academic Affairs Weekly), and then again by a targeted "FList" email by the Associate Provost. 81 Faculty members took the survey.
