A brief description of the institution’s community garden:
Luther College offers community garden plots to community members as well as Luther students who are in town over the summer. A rental fee pays for the space, as well as spring tilling. Luther employs 8-10 student gardeners to work at the college farm, where the plots are located. Gardeners are called upon to help
teach students and non-students who have a plot in Luther’s Community
Garden as necessary. An average of about 20 plots are rented out each year. Costs are low ($30 for a 20'x20' plot) intentionally to make costs affordable and encourage employees and students to grow their own food.
