A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory (including the types of faculty and staff included as researchers):

The Dean's Office provided a list of list of faculty reported research activities from 2014-15 and 2015-16. These activities were entered into a spreadsheet. Sustainability staff contacted each of these faculty members individually to ask whether any of their research activities could be considered sustainability research by the STARS definition. Responses were catalogued and were were pleased to discover that a larger percentage of our faculty are conducting sustainability research than we had realized!

Additionally, the sustainability office asked the Dean's Office for a list of faculty who received community-based research grants. There were four projects and we reached out to these faculty to learn more and included them in the list.
