Has the institution developed a definition of sustainability in the curriculum?:
Yes

A copy of the institution's definition of sustainability in the curriculum?:

Sustainability is considered part of a course if any part of the course explores the interplay between the social, economic and environmental needs of current and future generations. A course is defined as sustainability-focused if faculty consider sustainability extremely or very important to course objectives, and 21-100% of class time deals with sustainability. A course is defined as sustainability-related if faculty consider sustainability extremely or very important to course objectives but only deal with sustainability for 0-20% of class time, or if they consider sustainability moderately important to course objectives and 0-100% of class time deals with sustainability.

Has the institution identified its sustainability-focused and sustainability-related course offerings?:
Yes

A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the inventory:

A survey was conducted in March 2009 to find out where sustainability is currently being taught in the Luther curriculum in order to help the task group identify opportunities to make sustainability a part of every student’s learning experience. The goal was to create as complete an inventory as possible, so the task group chose a brief, quantitative survey in order to maximize the response rate. A complete copy of the survey used to create the inventory can be found here: http://www.luther.edu/sustainability/education/survey/

Does the institution make its sustainability course inventory publicly available online?:
Yes
