Does the institution have an ongoing program that offers incentives for academic staff in multiple disciplines or departments to develop new sustainability courses and/or incorporate sustainability into existing courses? :

A brief description of the incentive program(s):
Each year, the Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy provides various workshops to support teaching excellence at Loyola. Prior to the start of the academic year, the Focus on Teaching and Learning provides sessions on incorporating sustainability concepts and resources into faculty's teaching and research. In this forum, faculty that are integrating sustainability present their work and the advantages of incorporating sustainability concepts into their discipline.

Our Center for Engaged Learning, Teaching, and Scholarship (CELTS) oversees the engaged learning requirement for students. This mandates that undergraduates must take courses with engaged learning aspects. In 2016, applied sustainability was explicitly added to the list of criteria defining an 'engaged learning' course. Faculty apply for their course to be listed as such and thus get more students participating in their offerings. https://www.luc.edu/engagedlearning/
The Office of Sustainability in partnership with Academic Affairs sponsored faculty to attend a Sustainability Across the Curriculum workshop hosted by Santa Clara U (summer 2022). In fall of 2022, a workshop was hosted for the three faculty that attended to present back to other faculty looking to amend their courses.
