A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Hacking for Good: 2023 LMU Hackathon Emphasizes Sustainability: Loyola Marymount University computing and engineering student organizations joined together this spring to host LMUHacks 2023: Hack for Good. Teams worked over the course of a day to conceptualize, develop and present a project. They defined ‘hacking for good’ using the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development goals, with a goal for participants to develop projects that solved problems of environmental inequality that have arisen since the COVID-19 pandemic. The winning project in the general computer science track was an app that used AI to help users find places to recycle different items.
