The LMU Sustainability Office decided to merge its Green Office program with The City of Los Angeles Green Business Program. As a result, all certified offices are recognized both by Loyola Marymount University and the City of Los Angeles. The City of Los Angeles Green Business Program (LAGBP) has certified almost 600 businesses since its launch in 2014. This voluntary assistance program aims to increase energy and water efficiency, generate cost-savings, reduce waste, promote environmental awareness, and create a healthier environment for Angelenos. All certified offices receive recognition as an LMU Green Office Leader as well as a City of Los Angeles Green Business with an official certificate signed by Mayor Garcetti. LMU collaborates with an employee from the city in order to certify offices based on a set of criteria.

Upon visiting with these offices and selecting a rep for each office they becomew the peer educator for faculty/staff.
