Loyalist College is in Ontario, Canada and we are required by legislation to report our incidents to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). For the purposes of this credit, we are reporting the number of claims the College has submitted to the WSIB annually which includes: • Any incidents where a worker requires health care (i.e. services provided at hospitals and health facilities, or by a chiropractor, physician, physiotherapist, registered nurse, or dentist) and/or: o is absent from regular work o earns less than regular pay for regular work (e.g., part-time hours) o requires modified work at less than regular pay o requires modified work at regular pay for more than seven calendar days following the date of accident. • This number does not include first-aid-only injuries handled by an in-house/worksite health care professional or trained first-aider.
