Examples of our local and sustainable food purchases and partners include:
o Local dairy products including Milk, Cream and Yogurt from Reid’s Dairy located locally in Belleville , Ontario http://www.reidsdairy.com/ as well as local cheese from Pine River (Farmer Owned Cooperative); Brights; Arla etc.
o Local produce including mushrooms year round (Windmill Farms); carrots and onions from Bradford & District Produce; greenhouse products including peppers, cucumbers, and tomatoes from a variety of producer partners in Ontario, local potatoes, apples, fresh herb for the majority of the school year and items like pears, berries, broccoli, cauliflower etc. when available seasonally
o Sustainable Seafood Purchases (transitioning to 100%) including MSC-certified salmon, cod, haddock and Pollock, and ACC-certified shrimp.
o Fair Trade Coffees and Rain Forest Alliance Certified Teas
o Where possible, these products are also offered through Franchise operations including local dairy (Reid's) at Tim Hortons and local produce at Subway and Pizza Pizza.

At Loyalist and within ARAMARK, our menus emphasize fresh, whole foods that are raised, grown, harvested, and produced locally and sustainably wherever possible; we aim to partner with new and existing suppliers to increase the availability of such foods; and to prepare them in ways that respect and maintain quality, freshness, and purity. Four key purchasing areas that are a focus for our operations include:
o Locally Grown / Raised & Produced Foods
o Ecologically Produced & Humanely Raised Foods
o Sustainable Seafood
o Socially Responsible Products (e.g. Fair Trade Certified / Rainforest Alliance Certified)

To track these purchases, ARAMARK uses their purchasing tracking system. Products within this system continue to be coded at a central head office level with Sustainability and Supply Chain personnel for key attributes including:
