We do routine waste audits and dumpster dives to try to avoid contamination. We also do proactive training sessions about recycling for students, staff and faculty so that we can talk about the risk of contaminating recyclables.

We have a very proactive recycling / zero waste initiative on campus. We participate in the National GameDay Recycling Challenge and Recyclemania. We recently replaced all recycling bin signs both inside and outside recycling cans, and offer proactive training sessions on recycling and best practices.

We put large signs on the roll-off containers meant for cardboard recycling only. Last move-in we had more than 12 tons of cardboard waste recycled. We manage volunteers at the Res Halls to encourage recycling.
