A brief description of the IPM program:
LSU has adopted an Integrated Pest Management Program (IPM). The program is an ecological approach to suppressing pest populations (e.g. weeds, insects, diseases, etc.) in which the use of inorganic fertilizers and chemical pesticides, fungicides and herbicides have been eliminated in favor of ecologically preferable materials on the LSU campus so that pests are kept at acceptable levels in effective, economical, and environmentally safe ways.
