The LSU Office of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responds to all Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues that are brought to our attention on a case-by-case basis. In addition, in cooperation with Facility Services, EHS proactively reviews building and renovation plans. EHS attends preplanning meetings with contractors, state representatives, and LSU faculty and staff for major projects to insure that IAQ issues will not interfere with building occupants.

EHS maintains a variety of air monitoring instrumentation to evaluate a variety of IAQ issues in real-time. More complex issues are monitored by collection of air samples which are analyzed by qualified laboratories. Sampling results are compiled and a report is distributed to all concerned parties. Corrective actions are established and followed through by EHS.

The LSU Environmental Health and Safety website may be accessed at LSU EHS. A link to a discussion on Indoor Air Quality may be found under the “Industrial Hygiene” tab on the website. A “Hazard Hotline” may be accessed under the “About” tab “Contact Us”.
