LSU has the Louisiana Sea Grant program to encourage students to conduct/ engage in sustainability research. Strategic initiatives of the program include but are not limited to: Healthy Ecosystems and Habitats, and Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture. Incentives for the program include: monetary compensation, travel funds, real world experience, and the potential to be published in a scientific journal.

To encourage faculty members from all disciplines to conduct sustainable research LSU has the Coastal Sustainability Studio. The studio brings together- designers, planners, engineers, and scientists- to respond and study critical issues of coastal settlement, flood protection, and economic development. Incentives for working in the studio are funds for project development and proof of concept ideas.

Yes

A brief description of the institution’s library support for sustainability research, including any positive outcomes during the previous three years:

LSU’s library support for sustainability research is intertwined with the LSU Libraries, LOUISiana Digital Library, and our extensive network of research databases. Sustainability research is being supported by all of the databases that we have available at LSU.
