A brief description of the employee wellness program, policy, or practice:

The LSU Employee Assistance Program is a confidential referral service to professionally certified employee assistance providers who are experienced in a wide range of issues including relationship, conflict, family concerns, and alcohol/substance abuse. Its purpose is to provide employees and their eligible dependents with opportunities to obtain assistance for a variety of personal problems. EAP services are offered to University faculty and staff.

Unfortunately, our campus does not have an organized employee wellness program. Because the Student Health Center is funded by student fees, we feel obligated to focus our resources on students. At one point, the Office of Human Resources was partially funding a professional staff position at University Recreation, who organized a limited number of wellness initiatives targeting faculty and staff. However, I no longer think this is the case.
